I spent the first sixteen years of my life in New York, about 10 miles
north of the city. Our family moved to Kansas City for a year-and-a-half,
and then to Auburn, where I finished High School. My experiences of moving
allowed me the opportunity of seeing a diverse number of people in various
settings and social situations.
During my time in Kansas City I attended my first intensive
study at the Kansas City Art Institute. In 2000
I began work at the School of
the Art Institute of Chicago, which I graduated
from in 2004.
After school I moved to Austin. I am part-business
owner and operator of decorative painting company
Bluebird Design. Recently I began a series
incorporating gold leaf, a product we often use
in our decorative painting.
I’ve had numerous group shows and look forward
to having my first notable solo show at Pump
Project in Austin, TX this summer.
